Role: Product and Brand Consultant
I led UX and product strategy for X-Team’s flagship platform, helping a globally distributed organisation align product direction, brand experience, and user needs.
Context & Challenge
X-Team provides remote development teams to global technology companies, supported by its internal XHQ platform. The platform had grown organically without a clear design strategy, leading to fragmented experiences and unclear priorities. Leadership needed a strategic approach to connect product direction, user experience, and brand identity into a coherent roadmap.
Approach & Decisions
Working closely with senior stakeholders, I assessed the platform, user workflows, and business objectives to define a unified direction. I:
- Led UX and product strategy for the XHQ platform, focusing on core user needs and business goals
- Designed improved workflows and interface patterns to support globally distributed teams
- Advised on digital brand and experience strategy to strengthen consistency across touchpoints
- Created clear design roadmaps to align features, timelines, and strategic priorities
The focus was on establishing a practical path forward that balanced user value with organisational growth.
Outcome & Impact
- Reduced time to market for key platform features by approximately 25 percent
- Improved user productivity through clearer workflows and more consistent interfaces
- Strengthened alignment between product, brand, and engineering teams
- Provided leadership with a strategic framework to guide ongoing platform investment
Stakeholders gained a clearer vision for how design could directly support business objectives and platform evolution.
Reflection
The most important outcome was creating strategic clarity in a fast-moving remote organisation. By connecting product thinking with brand and user experience, design became a unifying force rather than a downstream activity. Future work would focus on formal usability measurement to further quantify long-term impact.
